The historic Wedderburn Tavern, built in 1885, situated in the heart of the Maniototo Plain on the Central Otago Rail Trail. Once the preferred stop-over for coaches and wagons, it is now the favourite destination for Rail Trail cyclists and a venue for destination weddings, hunting excursions, and those wishing to explore the rugged wilderness of the area.

Welcome to The Stables, our charming mud brick accommodation with a scrumptious complimentary breakfast. $400 per night.
A beautiful two-bedroom guest house in our converted historic stables equipped with a full kitchen, private bathroom and a log fire for wintery nights. The Stables has two super-king beds with quality linen, which can also be converted to 4 single beds. Join us for a night or two, or explore our package deals that encompass all meals and a bespoke selection of regional activities.

A truly idyllic location for your special day, Wedderburn Tavern offers a variety of venue options that are surrounded by some of this country’s most stunning scenery. We work with you to design your personalised wedding, coordinating all details so you can relax and enjoy your magical day.
Summer Picnics & Platters
Offered in Summer between 12-6pm on the lawn surrounding the Tavern curling pond.
Select one of our 2 scrumptious picnic baskets, with an array of grazing nibbles, meats, and artisan cheeses. Choose a relaxing spot and once you’re settled, a bottle of wine will be delivered to your blanket (provided by us).
The picnic lawn opens in November, spots will go fast so book ahead!
